At first bacon in coffee sounds gross. Then I think about it a bit more and remember that bacon goes with everything

Speciality flavour - Maple Bacon Morning

  • På den underholdende blog Puttingweirdthingsincoffee har der selvfølgelig været lavet forsøg med kaffe & bacon kombinationen, da de så rigtigt konkluderer at “The world of meat-based coffee additives is, as far as we could tell, completely unexplored”. Konklusionen på forsøget er at baconnen  tilføjede:

a subtle smokey flavour that did not clash at all with the dark roasted coffee

  • Ovenstående billede fra San Francisco’s Pirate Cat Radio Café, som har lavet en “double espresso latte sweetened with organic maple syrup and seasoned with flavored with homemade bacon bacon fat, and seasoned with a sprinkling of Bac-O”. En anmeldelse på Royalbaconsociety konkluderer at:

…as he kept sipping, it became more apparent. Almost overwhelming. He didn’t know if he could drink anymore. But then he made another, stronger pot this morning, so he must have gotten over it. As for me, I never did taste the bacon in the cup…. I was disappointed, but had one more thought. I ate a bean. And there it was. The shiny bean was not sticky, but coated with a sweet and smoky oil that brought the whole thing together. It was bacon, syrup, and a pancake that was very nearly burnt.
