The Danish Meat and Bacon Council’ i England.
- Twenty-three per cent of consumers who buy bacon in multiples are not planning to buy it when they enter the store
- Bacon is now recognised as one of the least fatty meats due to improvements in feeding systems, ie. in the rearing of leaner animals, over recent years
- Bacon, along with other meats, is a specially good source of iron. This is particularly important because many people do not have an adequate supply of iron in their diet
- The world’s first bacon chocolate bar has proved to be very popular with British customers as Selfridges, the only UK stockist, sold its entire stock of the £5.99 bar within two days
- Hog-like creatures survived a mass extinction and walked the earth before dinosaurs ruled the world. Around 260 million years ago, during the “Age of Porcine” prehistoric pigs, which were similar in size to modern pigs with snouts and small tusks, flourished for around a million years in a “golden age” of no predator

Bon appetit!
